The Tax Collector does not decide what or how much to collect. Her job is to make paying
your taxes as simple and painless as possible.
Each year, the Tax Collector processes OVER A MILLION TRANSACTIONS and collects OVER
ONE BILLION DOLLARS.
The Tax Collector handles transactions:

2.) For Local Governments

| 26,194 drivers licenses in Downtown Sarasota (since 1996). We hope to expand this | |
| service to our South County office by this October. | ||
| Sales tax on vehicles & vessels totalling $7,505,005 |
| 301,755 tax bills valued at $974,000,000 | |
| 35,558 local business tax accounts valued at $745,900 | |
| Local Option Tourist Taxes totalling $8,500,000 |
